Iconic “Brady Bunch” home sells for millions — it looks just like it did on the classic sitcom

The Brady Bunch is one of the most classic sitcoms of all time, to the point where even the Bradys’ house has become something of an icon: with a distinct mid-century modern architecture and a very early-’70s decor, it’s easily one of the most recognizable homes in TV history.

It’s a real home in Los Angeles, and yes, it still looks just like how it did on The Brady Bunch — and it went on sale earlier this year after getting a very groovy renovatio

The renovation cost a reported $1.9 million and added 2,000 square feet to the property. But most importantly, the home was decorated to look just like it did in the classic sitcom, complete with all the kitchy 1970s decor.

“Standout features in the completed home include the iconic floating staircase, the burnt orange-and-avocado green kitchen, the kids’ Jack-n-Jill bathroom and a backyard with a swing set, teeter totter and Tiger’s dog house,” a press release reads.

The Brady Bunch was never actually filmed in the home — the cast filmed interior scenes on a soundstage at Paramount Studios; the house was used for exterior shots — which makes the undertaking all the more impressive.

The makeover show also reunited many of the show’s stars, who were stunned to see their old TV home made into a reality. “I first walked in and I freaked out,” Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia Brady, told ET in 2019. “I immediately felt like I was back on stage five at Paramount and I was really on our set. It’s perfect.”

‘Brady Bunch’ house sold for millions

After several months on the market, the Brady home has finally found a buyer: According to TMZ, wealthy home collector Tina Trahan closed a deal to buy the home for $3.2 million.

Trahan, who is married to former CEO of HBO Chris Albrecht, seems to have gotten quite a good deal on the home: the original asking price was $5.5 million. HGTV reportedly paid $3.5 for the home in 2018, so they’re taking a loss on the sale
